Following a meeting on the 21st July 2014 in Budapest between the delegation of the Memorial Library of New York and director general József Kaposi and his colleagues from the HIERD, the two institutions agreed to began cooperation in the future.

Mexican Education at a Glance

In the summer for 5 weeks, the HIERD hosted Hugo Ivan Aguilar Estrada, a university student and special education teacher from Mexico as an intern. During his stay in Budapest, he learned about the Hungarian education system, the recent changes, reforms and the current challenges.

The New Generation of Textbooks Arrives

The state-led development and publishing of textbooks, from the school year 2014-2015, is coordinated by the Hungarian Institute for Educational Research and Development (HIERD). As a result, teachers in schools that, based on a representative sample, participate in the pilot, can use these textbooks from this September.
